MACOMB, Ill. – McDonough District Hospital welcomes Amy Sands, DO to the MDH Family Clinic.
Dr. Sands is accepting new patients. She joins the staff in the MDH Family Clinic, including: Dr. Richard Minter, Dr. Michael Waters, and Kellie Jones, FNP-C.
“We are excited to have Dr. Sands join our MDH community. She brings a strong educational background to our hospital, and has participated in many community outreach events from her time as an undergraduate through medical school,” said MDH interim Chief Executive Officer Wanda Foster, RN, MSN. “She will be joining a strong group of providers in our Family Clinic. Dr. Sands also has training in Obstetrics, allowing our OB department to grow even more.”
Dr. Sands recently completed her Family Medicine Residency in Quincy through Southern Illinois University Quincy Family Medicine. She was selected to the Osteopathic recognition program.
She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Des Moines University, and received her bachelor’s degree from Drake University in Des Moines.
Dr. Sands was a Teaching Assistant and Group Facilitator while at Des Moines University.
