Welcome to the McDonough District Hospital website. Whether you are browsing with future plans of a visit, or researching our many services and programs, we hope you will find our website helpful and informative. We have built a reputation of offering excellent patient care in a safe environment to the people of western Illinois since 1958 and we are committed to continuously working to improve our services.

In response to identified needs, we have made several renovations and expansions to our facility in recent years, and will continue to upgrade our technology.

In September 2015, we opened a three-floor expansion which includes a new Emergency Department with 10 large private treatment rooms, ambulance garage, direct access to diagnostic technology, spacious waiting area along with pediatric waiting area, vending and comfort room for families in a crisis situation. The third floor is home to Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Services which includes: physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, cardiac rehab and wound care. The spacious third floor location has a great view and features: cardiac rehabilitation telemetry, a supported walking system, a fully-equipped ADL kitchen, private treatment rooms, pediatric waiting and gym, hand/upper extremity exam and much more.

In our continued dedication to meet future needs, we have expanded the MDH Medical Group Family Clinic. A 7,100 square foot primary care suite on the second floor of Health Services Building 2 opened in July 2016. This modernized space includes 15 exam rooms and state-of-the-art Electronic Health Record system.

MDH Convenient Care first opened at the Macomb Hy-Vee in 2011, serving the community by providing medical care and treatment for uncomplicated minor illnesses, injury and other support for patients greater than 18 months old on a walk-in basis. In July 2019, the former Convenient Care moved to MDH Family Clinic where patients can still receive the same Walk-In services and take advantage of the extended hours for nights and weekend walk-in appointments. The MDH Convenience Clinic is located on the first floor of Health Services Building 2.

Additionally, the investment in the future of health care for McDonough County and the surrounding area became a reality as the Dolores Kator Switzer Women’s Center (DKSWC) opened in February 2020.

The DKSWC features seven Obstetrics beds, three Labor-Delivery-Recovery rooms, one triage room, renovation to the OB/Imaging waiting rooms, Nursery area and Imaging center. The Imaging component of the DKSWC expansion includes: diagnostic imaging, new waiting area, and expanding and remodeling the suites for 3-D digital mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, ultrasound and bone density screenings.

The extraordinary staff of MDH strives to exceed your expectations. We pledge to provide you excellent care with compassion, professionalism, and respect.

We welcome your visit anytime and we encourage your comments as to how we can serve you better.
