Memorial Hospital and McDonough District Hospital (MDH) are pleased to announce a new collaborative OBGYN partnership

Carthage, IL – Memorial Hospital and McDonough District Hospital (MDH) are pleased to announce a new collaborative partnership that will expand access to comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care for patients throughout west-central Illinois.

Beginning September 28, 2026, Christopher M. Jones, MD, will provide obstetric and gynecologic care at three clinic locations, allowing patients greater access to care while strengthening services across the region.

Dr. Jones will continue seeing patients at:

  • Memorial Medical Clinic Obstetrics & Gynecology, 630 Locust Street, Carthage
  • Memorial Medical Clinic Colchester, 110 East Market Street, Colchester

In addition, he will begin seeing patients at:

  • McDonough District Hospital OB/GYN Clinic, 525 East Grant Street, 3rd Floor, Macomb

As part of this collaboration, obstetric patients receiving prenatal care from Dr. Jones will deliver their babies at McDonough District Hospital's newly enhanced Obstetrics Department. This allows expectant parents to continue receiving care from the provider they know and trust while benefiting from MDH's labor and delivery resources and experienced obstetric care team.

Gynecologic surgical procedures will be performed at both Memorial Hospital and McDonough District Hospital, depending on the patient's needs and preferences. Whenever appropriate, every effort will be made to provide care at the patient's preferred facility.

"This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to ensuring patients throughout our region have continued access to exceptional obstetric and gynecologic care," said Ada Bair, Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Hospital. "By working together, our organizations are expanding access, strengthening local healthcare, and creating a seamless experience for patients while maintaining the personalized care they expect."

"It is truly an honor to welcome Dr. Jones to McDonough District Hospital," said Melissa Onion, RN, BSN, CLC, Interim Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Obstetrics," and to have the opportunity to work alongside a physician so deeply committed to excellence in women's healthcare. His dedication to his patients and the quality of care he provides make him an outstanding addition to our team. This partnership represents what community healthcare is all about, coming together to better serve our patients." Onion adds, "We are grateful to collaborate with Memorial Hospital alongside Ada Bair's outstanding team. Together, we are strengthening women and children's services across our region and ensuring families have access to exceptional care close to home."

The collaboration is designed to improve access to specialized obstetric and gynecologic care, enhance continuity of care, expand appointment availability, and better serve patients across the region. By combining the strengths of two independent community hospitals, Memorial Hospital and McDonough District Hospital are working together to ensure high-quality healthcare remains accessible to the region.

Dr. Jones will continue caring for established and new patients at Memorial Medical Clinic locations in Carthage and Colchester, and will also welcome patients at the MDH OB/GYN Clinic in Macomb.
