MDH Celebrates National Doctors’ Day

MACOMB, Ill. – Physicians everywhere were challenged over the past 12 months dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. The delivery of healthcare took on a completely different look in some aspects in order to meet the needs of their patients, but what has not changed – and only strengthened during the pandemic - is the dedication and commitment to the best patient care possible.

McDonough District Hospital celebrated National Doctors’ Day on Tuesday (March 30), recognizing the contributions and service by the hospital employed physicians and independent practitioners to the Macomb community and surrounding area.

More than 40 physicians (full time and part time) across 18 various specialties comprise the MDH Medical Group.

Peter Rao, MDH Medical Group Vice President, noted the important role physicians have played during this pandemic.

“As we celebrate Doctors’ Day, we thank our Physicians for their sacrifices and unwavering care this past year. They have been an integral part of overcoming an unimaginable pandemic with our staff and community. Their expertise, leadership and support is appreciated and valued," said Rao.

All MDH physicians working in outpatient clinics are accepting new patients. To find a primary care or specialty provider, or to learn more about the services offered at MDH, log onto www.MDH.org/find-a-provider.
