MDH & Lifeguard Ambulance Reach Agreement

MACOMB, Ill. – McDonough District Hospital and Lifeguard Ambulance announced on Wednesday (April 8) they reached an agreement in principle to continue providing ambulance services for one year starting on May 1, 2026.

Specific terms of the agreement have not been finalized. A multi-year agreement will be negotiated at a later date.

MDH gave notice last month to Lifeguard its plans to cancel the current arrangement per the contract’s language of 45 days (May 3, 2026). This new agreement, which will run into 2027, will replace the contract signed in January.

“We appreciate Lifeguard working together with us (MDH) to restructure the ambulance contract without a gap in coverage to residents. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Lifeguard for the next year,” said MDH President & Chief Executive Officer Bill Murdock.
