MACOMB, Ill. – Renovation work to 3rd floor east inside McDonough District Hospital is complete, and beginning Monday (Jan. 18) will serve as the new home of the MDH Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinic.

The move now allows women to stay in one convenient location inside McDonough District Hospital - with the 3rd floor serving as the OB/GYN Clinic area and 1st floor housing the Dolores Kator Switzer Women’s Center for OB delivery, gynecological post-surgery recuperation, and digital imaging testing.

"OB/GYN providers care for women during every stage of their lives. This new clinic location allows us to optimize our delivery of exceptional health care to women of all ages. The integration of the MDH OB/GYN Clinic and the Dolores Kator Switzer Women’s Center into the same building creates a center of excellence and convenience for our patients,” said Brandi Hood, OB/GYN Clinic Practice Manager. “Caring for our patients as if they were our own sisters, mothers, daughters, and friends, is the number one goal of our MDH OB/GYN Clinic. I am proud of the amazing providers and staff that we currently have, and in their ability to provide that exceptional level of care to you, our patients. Welcome to our new location and our new home for the MDH OB/GYN Clinic.”

OB/GYN patients will have reserved parking spaces near the main entrance of the hospital, and also for their convenience can enter the hospital through the main entrance. All OB/GYN patients must still get screened for their temperature and any COVID-related symptoms at the front desk of the hospital. Patients can gain access to the elevators past the main entrance hallway, then exit the elevator on 3rd floor and walk directly into the OB/GYN Clinic.

Dr. Nicholas Viyuoh, Dr. Tamara Smith, Dr. Steven Coulter, Dr. D. James Lee, and certified nurse midwife Mary Thompson are all accepting new patients.
