MDH Welcomes Family Medicine Physician Richard Minter, DO

McDonough District Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of Board Certified Family Practice physician Richard Minter, DO to the McDonough Medical Group (MMG). Minter will start in the MDH Family and Pediatric Clinic January 5.

MDH invites the community to a welcome reception for Dr. Minter on Wednesday, January 6 from 2:00-4:00 PM in the MDH Auditoriums A & B, lower level.

Dr. Minter graduated from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Missouri. He completed a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. Minter has spent the last 31 years practicing with Northeast Missouri Associates, Inc. in Lancaster, Missouri.

Minter has worked with all ages including a robust nursing home practice. He has experience providing general medical care, diagnosis, care and treatment of simple fractures of the extremities, including casting, DOT physicals, Laceration repairs, OMT (Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy), X-rays and EKGs. He has also done minor surgery in his office including surgical removal of skin lesions, toenails and cryosurgery.

Prior to coming to Macomb he had served as the Medical Director for the Schuyler County Nursing Home since 1995, the Schuyler County Ambulance District since 1988 and the Schuyler County Health Department since 1986. He also served for 12 years on the Schuyler R1 School Board in Queen City, Missouri.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and watching WIU Women’s Basketball games as his son, Seth Minter, is the Associate Head Coach.
