Macomb, IL– Baby TALK volunteer and past director Peggy Scharfenberg (left) beside Sheila Shearer, volunteer and co-director of Baby TALK, recognized Kim Laswell and her son, Dakoda Miller for being the 5000th family visited by Baby TALK. Recipients Laswell and Miller were presented with a book, certificate, and stuffed animal. The Baby TALK Program was implemented at McDonough District Hospital in 1997 to positively impact child development and nurture healthy parent-child relationships during the critical early years. A Baby TALK volunteer visits new mothers when they deliver their baby in the MDH Obstetrics Department.
