MACOMB, Ill. – McDonough District Hospital’s Julie Bartlow is now designated as a primary care provider. Bartlow, a certified pediatric nurse practitioner through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, recently received her new designation as a primary care provider.

Bartlow, CPNP-PC, NNP-BC, joined MDH Pediatrics in 2017, but has been working as a neonatal nurse practitioner since 2002 - first for SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and then at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

She earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing with a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Specialty from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and completed her Post-Master’s Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Saint Louis University.

She is also a certified neonatal nurse practitioner with the National Certification Corporation Board.

Bartlow is also a trained child life specialist, a healthcare professional trained to: explain illness and procedures to children in age-appropriate ways, provide distraction and appropriate pain management for procedures, and help decrease the physical and emotional stress on children when they are ill.

Bartlow explains her approach to patient care in her own words, “As a healthcare provider, I feel tremendously blessed when a family gives me the opportunity to be part of a child’s life. I consider that opportunity an incredible privilege, and I treat every child as I would treat my own. I love partnering with families and enjoy celebrating victories, working through needs, and watching children grow and thrive.”

MDH Pediatrics is located in Health Services Building 1, Suite 202 and is currently accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment call (309) 833-1729.
