Pulmonary Rehabilitation

MDH Pulmonary Rehabilitation offers patients with obstructive or restrictive pulmonary disease an 8- to 12-week, multidisciplinary rehabilitation program combining education, exercise, and functional activities.

Conditions Treated

We provide evaluation and treatment of many lung conditions, including:

• COPD
• Pulmonary fibrosis
• Emphysema
• Lung cancer
• Asthma
• Chronic bronchitis
• Other lung diseases

Elements of Treatment

• Evaluation and testing including pulmonary function test and the 6-minute walk test
• Exercise (aerobic, strengthening, and stretching)
• Educational sessions

Goal

Our goal is to improve aerobic conditioning, increase upper and lower body strength, establish good breathing techniques, and improve your function in everyday activities.
