MACOMB, Ill. – Following a vote by the McDonough District Hospital Board of Directors on Thursday night (April 2), MDH announced that local Ophthalmologist Dr. Jill Brody and Optometrist Dr. Timothy Williams from McDonough Eye Associates are joining the MDH Medical Group as employed physicians.
The addition is effective immediately. Their clinic will be renamed McDonough Eye Care and will continue operating in its current location on the 2nd floor of Health Services Building 1 (505 East Grant Street). Patients may continue scheduling appointments by calling (309) 836-3937.
“We are excited to welcome McDonough Eye Associates, along with their entire team, to the McDonough District Hospital family,” said MDH President & Chief Executive Officer Bill Murdock. “This strengthens our core clinical offerings and brings the full benefit of these specialty services under the MDH umbrella. Drs. Brody and Williams will continue providing exceptional ophthalmology and optometry expertise to our community. Dr. Brody is well-known for her skills in cataract treatment and eye health, and for the trust she built with patients throughout her career.”
Board Certified in Ophthalmology, Dr. Brody attended medical school at the University of Iowa. She completed her Residency at George Washington University and a Fellowship at Harvard Medical School Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Williams graduated from Pacific University and trained at the Illinois College of Optometry.
He and Dr. Brody were both faculty members at the SIU School of Medicine before the start of McDonough Eye Associates in 1998.
“Dr. Williams and I are looking forward to directly collaborating with MDH and our colleagues. We will be offering the same great care, in the same place, just with a different name,” said Dr. Brody.
