MACOMB, Ill. - McDonough District Hospital announced another member of Dr. Timothy Biagini’s former staff Melissa Pounders, FNP-C joined MDH Gastroenterology.
She is accepting new patients, and individuals can schedule an appointment by calling MDH Gastroenterology at (309) 836-3387.
Pounders started at MDH in 2011 as a Family Nurse Practitioner and continued her role in primary care at Springfield Clinic in 2016 before transitioning to the Gastroenterology specialty in 2022.
She earned her Master of Science degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama.
In 2024 she was selected into the highly competitive Advanced Practice Provider IBD Preceptorship Program at Cedars Sinai Medical Center where she worked alongside top researchers and experts in inflammatory bowel diseases. She is also a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
