MDH Volunteen Program

Due to COVD-19 preparations, the 2020 MDH Volunteen Program has been canceled.

For more than 30 years, McDonough District Hospital has welcomed local youth as part of the Volunteen Program. Area students between the ages 13-18 are welcome to join the summer program.

The MDH Volunteen Program provides participants with opportunities for personal growth and development. Volunteens are assigned different departments or tasks and provide supplemental services throughout the organization while gaining personal satisfaction, new skills, and a better understanding of various health careers in preparation for their futures.

Being a part of the Volunteen Program isn’t just about providing services at MDH. No matter a student’s career goals, they will have the opportunity to acquire skills that can be used in a variety of settings throughout their academic and professional career. Skills such as communication, customer service, organization, time management and more.

Volunteens have the opportunity to serve others while making new friends, networking with medical professionals, developing self-esteem, and creating meaningful memories.
