Colorectal Cancer Screening

Each March, MDH offers free fecal occult blood test kits. This is the first step in detecting colon and rectal cancer and is recommended every year for anyone over 50 or at an earlier age if you have a family history of the disease or symptoms of colorectal cancer. The kit checks for blood in the stool and is completed in the privacy of your home. A Colorectal Cancer Education Program is also offered in March.
