MDH is proud to provide the Macomb community with a range of vital healthcare options, including pharmacy, primary care, general surgery, radiology, rehabilitative care, OBGYN, sports medicine, laboratory services, and more. From routine checkups to specialty treatments, we care for patients at every stage of life. Our 48-bed facility provides convenient access to high-quality care in a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.

MDH Quick Facts 

  • MDH opened its doors in 1958 serving patients in Macomb and McDonough County.
  • During the 1980s MDH stopped receiving tax revenue from McDonough County property owners.
  • MDH is licensed for 48 beds with the State of Illinois.
  • The Dolores Kator Switzer Women's Center opened in February 2020.
  • MDH employed providers are located in Health Services Building 2. Springfield Clinic, Medical Group of Macomb Pediatrics, and McDonough Eye Associates are located in Health Services Building 1 and are separate healthcare organizations from MDH.
  • The MDH Community Pharmacy opened its doors January 2025. The pharmacy is open to anyone, not just patients of MDH providers.
  • The MDH Drive-Thru first opened in March 2021.
  • MDH's Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • The current ambulance service is contracted with Lifeguard (non-MDH employed).
  • The Emergency Department physicians and advanced practice providers are contracted through Concord Medical Group.
