At McDonough District Hospital, we take pediatrics seriously. That’s because we recognize that when a child is sick or injured, it’s not just the child who is affected, but the whole family.

Pediatric staff like ours at MDH are uniquely qualified to check your child’s growth, including their physical, emotional, and cognitive development. We encourage parents-to-be to find a pediatrician while they are still expecting so they can begin their well-child visits right away. Pediatricians are helpful to teach new parents how to care for their babies in the first few days and weeks they are at home. During these appointments, make sure you ask any and all questions and mention any changes you’ve noticed since your last appointment.

Our pediatrics department provides care for your child’s total wellbeing. Whether your child experiences small aches and pains, an injury, or has a chronic health condition like type 1 diabetes, we will be there to help. Our care team focuses on the physical, emotional, and social health of their young patients through well-child visits, physicals, immunizations, and treating acute and chronic health conditions. If a medical situation arises that requires the expertise of a specialist, your provider will guide and coordinate all aspects of your care.

We are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and are closed for lunch between noon and 1:00 p.m. Our Thursday hours are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Contact us at (309) 833-1729.
