McDonough District Hospital is dedicated to providing the residents of western Illinois with excellent healthcare services, working to exceed the performance standards established for health care providers in today’s medical environment. Hospital performance data is shared to encourage public awareness of health care service information and to comply with government regulations. Information assists the hospital in evaluating performance and implementing health care service improvements.

Hospital Compare

The Hospital Compare website was created through the efforts of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The information on this website can be used by any patients needing hospital care. Hospital Compare displays rates for process of care measures that show whether or not hospitals provide some of the care this is recommended for patients being treated for various conditions, in addition to data from surveys of patients’ hospital experiences and hospital outcome of care measures such as mortality and readmission rates.

Hospice Compare

The Hospice Compare website was created through the efforts of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The goal of Hospice Compare is to help patients compare hospice providers on their performance and assist patients in making decisions that are right for them. The family experience of care section is comprised of the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers & Systems (CAHPS®) Hospice survey results which is a national survey that asks a family member or friend of a hospice patient about their hospice experience. The quality of patient care section is a snapshot of the quality of care a hospice offers and is comprised of information about patient preference and managing pain and treating symptoms.
