SCIOTA, Ill. – The West Prairie High School volleyball team presented a $2,698 donation for Linda’s Fund at McDonough District Hospital (MDH).

The team hosted a season-long effort titled Defend & Dig Out Cancer, which raised funds through sponsorships for blocks and digs. Since 2011, the West Prairie High School volleyball team has now donated more than $9,300 to Linda’s Fund and an additional $7,345 to Cancer Education and Screening at MDH.

Linda’s Fund provides financial support to breast cancer patients who are using the services at MDH. Area schools, community groups, and individuals have helped support the fundraising effort.

The application process for Linda’s Fund is not based on income and is separate from MDH financial assistance. For more information, contact the MDH Foundation office at (309) 836-1757, or online here.
