MACOMB, Ill. – The award-winning MDH Hospice will host a L.I.F.E. (Learning is ForEver) Course titled “Making Difficult Decisions Near the End of Life” on Tuesday, October 29, from 10-11 a.m. in Auditoriums A & B, located on the lower level of MDH.

Led by LaDawna Royer, NP-C, this course will walk through how hospice care goes beyond cancer care. Royer will discuss how the MDH Hospice team of registered nurses, aides, social services personnel, physicians, nurse practitioners, and volunteers tailor care to manage symptoms that often accompany diseases such as heart failure, emphysema, chronic kidney disease, or ALS.

Participants of this course will have the opportunity to hear not only what hospice can offer, but also when they can offer care and where. Learn how they deliver their expertise to homes, long-term care and assisted living facilities, providing vital care to both the patients and their families.

Pre-registration and a $5 fee are both required for each course. Online registration is available here. For more information or to register by phone, please call (309) 298-1911. To learn more about the MDH Community Calendar, visit www.MDH.org or follow on Facebook.
