MACOMB, Ill. – McDonough District Hospital held its first Board of Directors meeting in 2020 on Monday evening (Jan. 20).

Kathleen Neumann joined the MDH Board this month, starting her three-year term. A 20-plus year employee at Western Illinois University, Neumann served in various administrative roles, including: Chair of the Computer Science Department, Dean of the College of Business and Technology, Associate Provost, and nearly four years as WIU’s interim Provost.

She joined WIU in 1995 as an assistant professor in Computer Science and in 2004 was named full professor. Prior to her time at Western, Neumann worked at UCLA for three years as an associate faculty member in the Department of Mathematics.

Neumann earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree from WIU and a Ph.D. at Northwestern University.

“All of us are very pleased to have Kathy Neumann appointed to our Board. Her professional background at WIU as interim Provost and as a respected member of the College of Business and Technology serving as Dean will add value to our Board,” said MDH President/CEO Brian E. Dietz, FACHE. “We are very much looking forward to the contributions she will make to McDonough District Hospital and the community we serve.”

Also during the January meeting, the Board voted on its officers for the 2020 year.

Dr. Rick Iverson will serve as Board Chair for the third consecutive year. Andrew Baker (Vice Chairman) and J. Scott Clauson (Secretary/Treasurer) will return to their respective roles.
