Who volunteers at MDH?
People like you! Our volunteers come from all walks of life. Many are retirees with energy to give and skills acquired over a lifetime. They find that volunteering at MDH is a great way to meet new people and help others at the same time. We currently have approximately 125 active volunteers who donate over 10,000 hours each year to MDH.

What does a volunteer do?
Our volunteers’ warm hearts and helping hands are welcome in many areas throughout the hospital, including….

The Gift Gallery, Escort program, Hospice, Day Health Services, Senior Health Insurance Program, Baby TALK, office support, mail/newspaper delivery, reception desk and surgical waiting room.

When will you volunteer?
Whenever you can! As a volunteer, you put in only as much time as you can spare.  Daytime, evening, and weekend hours are available. We’ll work with you as much as possible to schedule your times to the hours you prefer to work.

Can students volunteer?
Absolutely! If you are age 13 or over, join our summer Volunteen Program. It’s a great way to help people and have fun while you learn more about a career in health care! Call us in March or April if you are interested in being a Volunteen.

You may also download and complete a Volunteer Services Application and a Volunteer Opportunities Form then mail to: 525 East Grant, Macomb, IL  61455, Attention: Volunteer Services. You may also stop by the Auxiliary / Volunteer Services office, located on the lower level of the hospital.
