School
of Radiologic Technology
Established
in 1970, the School of Radiologic Technology at McDonough
District Hospital is a 24-month, full-time program accredited
by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
Admission
Criteria
Admission criteria for the MDH School of Radiologic Technology
include the following:
- High
school transcript
- Must
be in upper half of high school graduating class
- Submission
of official application
- A formal
interview with Program Director
- The
applicant is required to spend one day in the Radiology
Department, observing routine department operations
- Students
will not be accepted on a part-time basis
Student
Requirements
Each student is responsible for purchasing his or her
own uniforms and white shoes.
Students
must provide their own living accommodations.

Tuition
As of 1999, the MDH School of Radiologic Technology does not
charge tuition. Students are charged a $300 per year book
fee.
Entry
Dates
The MDH School of Radiologic Technology accepts students every
other year on even numbered years, with a new class beginning
the first week of September.

About
McDonough District Hospital
McDonough District Hospital is a modern 113-bed non-profit
community hospital located in Macomb in west-central Illinois.
Home of
Western Illinois University, Macomb is within a one-and-a-half
hour drive of the Quad Cities, Peoria, Quincy and Springfield.
MDH
is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation
of Healthcare Organizations.
McDonough
District Hospital opened a new state-of-the-art Radiology
Department in February of 1999. Diagnostic imaging services
offered at McDonough District Hospital include mobile
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, CT Scan, Nuclear Medicine,
Mammography and Ultrasound.
Mission
Statement
The Hospital-Based Radiography Certificate Program at McDonough
District Hospital serves patients in the area's healthcare
institutions by educating students in entry level radiography.
Program faculty and clinical personnel provide students the
opportunity to demonstrate competency in the full range of
entry level skills. Students will be prepared to successfully
write the ARRT exam and to enter the work force. By achieving
the goal of clinical excellence built on academic achievement,
students will integrate the psychomotor and cognitive aspects
of medical radiography.
