Hospice
(309) 836-1543

The MDH Hospice provides a comprehensive team approach for patients who have a terminal illness. Patients do not have to be homebound nor confined to bed to utilize hospice care. Care is provided at home or in the nursing home setting.

MDH Hospice provides comfort and compassionate care for terminally ill individuals and offers support for their families. Short-term inpatient care is provided if hospitalization is necessary.

Hospice services are provided by a coordinated, interdisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, social workers, home health aides, area clergy and volunteers who focus on pain management and symptom control. In addition, Hospice services extend to support activities, such as the Bereavement Support Group for widows and widowers.

Medicare and Medicaid cover Hospice care. In addition, Hospice care is covered under most insurance plans, including HMOs and managed care organizations.

MDH Hospice is Medicare-certified, JCAHO-certified, and licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
