If you or someone you love is concerned about personal safety or security, help may be closer than you think. McDonough District Hospital has contracted with Critical Signal Technologies (CST), to provide an emergency home response system to subscribers in the service area. This service, formerly provided by LifeLine, offers advanced in-home alert and monitoring systems that make it safe and easy for seniors and those with unique physical challenges to remain independent.

24-Hour Assistance
Subscribers pay a monthly fee for connection to CST’s 24-hour care center, a monitoring facility staffed by highly trained professionals. Staff members from McDonough District Hospital Day Health Services are a regional CST provider for Illinois. The Personal Emergency Response System ( PERS) is easy to install and maintenance free. In case of an emergency, subscribers simply push the personal help button worn around their neck or wrist and a CST Care Center representative will quickly notify the appropriate responders. The PERS product can also be programmed to provide up to 8 reminders or messages to play at specific times of the day. CST can also provide accessories to compliment the standard PERS unit, such as a medication monitoring system.

Subscribers of CST
CST products are appropriate for anyone who lives alone and is concerned about their personal safety; post-operative patients or people with chronic illnesses who want to maintain a link to medical assistance; physically challenged persons; and even new mothers who may temporarily need the added assurance that help is close by.

MDH, in partnership with CST, are dedicated to preserving dignity and respect by providing products and services that help prevent premature institutionalization, relieve isolation, and improve overall quality of life.
