Students Complete Paramedic Program
McDonough District Hospital would like to recognize six students who recently completed the didactic portion of the MDH paramedic program. Wyatt Baxter, Sara Jo Bigger, Chris Larkner, Ryan Martin, Eric McCleery, and Missy Friday have attended classes twice weekly since August 2009.
The course also involved weekly clinical hours in the Emergency Department (ED) and on ambulance calls. Additionally, the paramedic candidates spent time in Cardiopulmonary, ICU, Surgery, OB, and pediatrician offices to gain experience specific to those clinical areas. The students are now performing intern hours in the ED and on ambulance runs. They will challenge the licensure exam in the near future.
