HOSPITAL CEO RECOGNIZES DRS. TK AND GLORIA CHENG
PHYSCIAN RECRUITMENT CONTINUES FOR COMMUNITY

With the recent announcement of the retirement of Drs. TK and Gloria Cheng, McDonough District Hospital continues its ongoing efforts to recruit physicians to the area.

“McDonough District Hospital and the community are extremely grateful for the dedicated service, compassion and exemplary health care that Drs. Gloria and TK Cheng have provided to our community since their arrival in August, 1974,” said MDH President/CEO Stephen R. Hopper.

“For more than 35 years Drs. Gloria and TK Cheng have contributed countless hours to caring for the families of western Illinois and we wish them well as they spend more time with their own family,” Hopper said.

MDH continues to actively recruit physicians to the community. In addition to working with local physicians to add candidates to their independent practices, the hospital also offers direct employment opportunities to physicians to participate in an MDH owned practice, according to Hopper.

The retirement of the Chengs is indicative of national trends with more physicians retiring as fewer new doctors enter internal medicine and family practice at a time when physician demand grows.

“We appreciate the extra efforts the medical community has made to serve the health care needs of the community as we seek additional health care professionals,” Hopper said.
