Outreach, Nutrition Clinic, Diabetes Education To Relocate At MDH

MACOMB, IL -- As part of the McDonough District Hospital surgical renovations on the first floor, the outreach services department, nutrition clinic and diabetes education staff will be relocated to the west wing of the third floor, effective Monday, October 20.

Outreach Services health educators will be relocated from the first floor east wing to Room 320 with the receptionist to be located at the third floor nurses station. Outreach Services provide health programs and services for cancer screening and support groups; first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training; Alzheimer’s education; wellness, hand washing, blood pressure screening and others upon request. Outreach Services can be contacted by calling (309) 836-1584.

The Diabetes Education Center (DEC) will be relocated to Room 315 on the west wing of the third floor. The DEC opened in January of 1996 and provides a comprehensive diabetes education program that is customized to address individualized needs. Education sessions are scheduled by appointment and provided on a fee-per-visit basis. The telephone number for the Diabetes Education Center is (309) 836-1584.

Nutrition Clinic staff provide dietary guidance for MDH patient meals and for outpatients. They offer programs that promote healthy living, proper nutrition and weight management. Nutrition Clinic staff can be reached in Room 322 at (309) 836-1635.
