Hospice

309-836-1543

Located in the Medical Arts Building on the MDH campus.

altThe MDH Hospice provides comfort and compassionate care for the terminally ill. a comprehensive team of physicians, nurses, social workers, home health aides, area clergy, and trained volunteers. Treatment is aggressive to relieve pain and symptoms.  Hospice provides care, equipment and medications for the illness that brought about the admission to hospice.

Because a terminal illness affects the entire family, hospice also supports and educates families during this process and helps them focus on helping their loved ones live their lives to the fullest while they can. Grief support and a Bereavement Support Group are also offered.

Medicare and Medicaid cover Hospice care.  In addition, Hospice care is covered under most insurance plans, including HMOs and managed care organizations.

MDH Hospice is Medicare-certified, licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health, and accredited by The Joint Commission.

Hours of operation:  8 am – 4:30 pm weekdays, a registered nurse is on-call to answer questions or make needed visits 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
