2011 Cancer Program Annual Report Featuring 2010 Statistics
Since 1983, MDH's Cancer Program has been accredited by the American College of Surgeon's Commission on Cancer (CoC).This is an indication of our commitment to providing outstanding cancer services at MDH.
Cancer Committee
The MDH Cancer Committee, consisting of a wide range of health professionals, meets quarterly to review new policies, new programs, patient care evaluations, and the cancer registry database.
Cancer Registry
The cancer registrar at MDH, Jane Schneider, RHIT, CTR, provides information for the CoC national database and maintains data on newly diagnosed and/or treated cancers. The Cancer Registry is designed to aid in determining the frequency of cancers, along with the stage or extent of cancer at the time of diagnosis, tracking treatments received, and following the patients for life. The MDH Cancer Registry has over 6000 patients in its database. The MDH Cancer Registry maintains a follow-up rate of over 90%.
