Educational Classes

Community CPR Class

This 4-hour course is taught by instructors trained though the American Heart Association on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Basic life support concepts and techniques are taught and demonstrated, with 2-year certification granted upon successful completion. Reviews and re-certifications are also available. This one-evening class will teach you what to do if an adult, child, or infant chokes, stops breathing, or experiences cardiac arrest.
The cost is $30.00 and pre-registration is required.
A minimum of 10 participants is necessary for a class to be held.
All CPR Classes begin at 6:00 PM
Anyone having special needs should give advance notice when pre-registering for the class.

Community First Aid Class

This 4-hour course is facilitated by MDH Paramedic and Health Education staff. This class covers injury assessment, first aid techniques and safety/injury prevention. Course completion cards are valid for 2 years.
The cost is $30.00 and pre-registration is required.
A minimum of 10 participants is necessary for a class to be held.
All First Aid Classes begin at 6:00 PM

Diabetes Education Group

Class will include nutrition instruction, self-management education, and goal setting. Cost may be billable to insurance; verify coverage with your insurance or talk with the MDH Financial Assistance Office for programs available to help defer cost of education.
Pre-registration is required.

Divorcing Parents Education Program

This class will cover the stages adults go through in the process of divorce and common emotions and behavior that children frequently display during a divorce. Parents will learn ways to help children cope with divorce.
The cost is $50 per person. Pre-registration is required. Held on Saturdays.

Look Good Feel Better Program

This free, community-based, national service teaches female cancer patients beauty techniques to help restore their appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
Time and Location: January 2:00-4:00 PM, all other classes 4:00-6:00 PM;  MDH Auxiliary Workroom.
