Congratulations to Clint Harris, Equipment/Systems Technician in Information Systems, on being named the recipient of the MDH APPLE Award for August 2011. APPLE stands for "Achieving outstanding Performance in Patient care, Leadership, Loyalty and Enthusiasm for MDH."

Clint attended Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, Illinois and earned an Associate degree in Telecommunications in 2005. After previously working as a Network Technician for a telephone cooperative in Fairview, Illinois for four years, Clint began his employment on June 10, 2009 as an Equipment/Systems Technician in Information Systems.

In addition to routine support issues, Clint was an excellent resource for handling the majority of the Trapeze Wireless Access Points installation, handling phone system issues, and supporting the migration of physician offices into the MDH domain. The migration of physician offices has involved revamping the entire network and phone cable structure in the physician offices and working with cable management in the network closets and the main Data Center server racks. Clint researches new technology and is a jack of all trades.

Clint does an outstanding job with any task you put in front of him. He has great troubleshooting abilities and keeps a cool head in urgent situations. Clint is a “doer” and selfstarter with a strong work ethic. He gets right to the center of the matter and gets the job done faster than expected. Clint constantly looks at ways to improve efficiency and quality of the department’s work.

Clint has a friendly demeanor even when put under pressure in high-stress situations. He is genuine in how he treats people. He is always willing to lend a hand. His nominator states “Clint does a great job in support….Clint has a genuine attitude that he wants to help out in anyway he can. He is a great asset to not only the department, but the hospital also.”

In his spare time, Clint enjoys working on computers! He also is a St. Louis Cardinal fan. Clint also works with model cars and loves spending time with his wife, Andrea.
