Replacement of Exterior Wall for Surgery Wing To Start April 3

Macomb, IL-- Replacement of the exterior southeast brick wall and windows for the surgery wing at McDonough District Hospital will begin Tuesday, April 3. The section of outer wall to be replaced is next to surgery phase two recovery rooms, near the main hospital entrance drive.

Replacement activities will be completed in stages to minimize the amount of space being renovated at any time. The construction activities will be structured so there is no disruption of hospital services or closing of the main driveway.

Temporary fencing will be erected to maintain a construction safety area. Completion time is estimated at a minimum of four weeks depending on good weather.

The project will correct moisture migration in the exterior wall constructed during a surgery expansion project in 1994.
