Dr. George Roodhouse Receives Dan Rouse Distinguished Service Award


McDonough District Hospital congratulates George Roodhouse, DO, for being named as the Dan Rouse Macomb School District Distinguished Service Award recipient.

Dr. Roodhouse has been awarded the honor for his dedication to the Macomb High School (MHS) athletics program where he has served as the team physician for 25 years.

The award was presented to Dr. Roodhouse at a celebration ceremony held in conjunction with the opening ceremony of the 2017-2018 school year at MHS.

The Dan Rouse Macomb School District Distinguished Service Award is presented annually and is open to any community member or Macomb School District staff member who has completed at least 10 years of employment. The award is given to recognize community members and school district staff members who have been significant contributors to the Macomb School District in memory of the late Dan Rouse. The recipient is chosen based on their integrity and commitment to service through an interest in bettering the lives of others through volunteer efforts.

Dr. Roodhouse has been a medical staff member at MDH since 1978 and currently serves as the EMS Medical Director and the Medical Director of the MDH Hospice Program.
